My father attends a sort of church thing called Self Realization Fellowship that was founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in the early 20th century. I read the last chapter in his book, The Autobiography of a Yogi, that was about my home town, Encinitas, and was inspired to do this piece.

I also was influenced by the ideas and style I saw in a piece blindn did for lifelounge magazine, although after lengthy discussion and deliberation it was determined that this was essentially a complete rip of his work. .sunset is the second version he did of the original piece.
